Occasionally
I take your shoes & walk in them
I do normal stuff, & out of the ordinary too (I mean, why not?)
Just like any other day
I go around town & do things you usually do on any given day

What's different about those days
I walk in your shoes
Is that we walk together

All of this reminds me that I am alive
& that these shoes are no longer yours
